Maldives is set to restart tourism and reopen borders for visitors from all nationalities from 15th July 2020, Tourists traveling to the Maldives will be provided a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival. Tourists will not be required to submit any medical test results for entry to the Maldives OR will not be subject to any quarantine measures upon arrival to the Maldives. However, travelers presenting with symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival will be subjected to a PCR test at the traveler’s cost. Maldives expects 10 daily international flights once border reopens
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which operates Maldives’ national airport Velana International Airport (VIA), expects to see 10 daily international flights when the country reopens its borders next month. MACL officials were summoned for a meeting with the Parliament’s State-owned Enterprises Committee on Sunday afternoon. Speaking at the meeting, MACL’s Terminal Manager Ibrahim Hussain said 10 international airlines have reserved slots with Velana Inernational Airport in preparation of the reopening of Maldives’ borders.
